Bulkhead’s Wardogs topped Newzoo’s September PC revenue charts, surpassing EA Sports FC 27.
The first-person shooter, currently in Early Access, also reached No.11 on Newzoo’s monthly active user (MAU) charts for PC. Wardogs achieved both rankings within its first three weeks.
GamesIndustry.biz recently examined the Early Access experiences of the studios behind Valheim, Subnautica, Hades, Phasmaphobia, Paralives, and Deadhaus Sonata.
Wardogs and Marvel’s Wolverine were among four new September releases to enter Newzoo’s Top 20 year-to-date games spend chart, ranking No.15 and No.16.
EA Sports FC 27 and NBA 2K27 held the top two positions.
Marvel’s Wolverine ranked fourth on Newzoo’s console revenue chart, after leading US September sales. According to Circana, it achieved the highest monthly dollar sales for a Sony-published title since Helldivers 2.
Other new titles, Halloween: The Game and The Blood of the Dawnwalker, both reached the Top 10 for revenue on PC and console charts.
Early access shooter Bodycam climbed 20 places to No.6 in PC revenue rankings after a major update and discount.
DressMaker surged 4,698 places to No.20. The Cozy Games title was first released on itch.io in 2025 and expanded into a full game launched on September 21.
Remedy’s Control Resonant debuted at No.18 in the Top 20 and ranked one spot higher on console.
As Remedy’s first self-published title, Resonant has already become its fastest-selling game, surpassing one million units in its launch month.
“September’s rankings show a market releasing many of its biggest titles before GTA 6 arrives,” said Newzoo market analyst Mert Şahin.
“New releases claimed the top of the revenue charts, and mid-priced hits such as Wardogs showed that games don’t need a full price tag to compete. But engagement gains came largely from familiar games, with a 1.0 release, seasonal updates, discounts and subscription additions all appearing to bring players back.”
“Viewed together, the rankings suggest that a crowded calendar makes it harder to stand out. In the months ahead, getting the price right, choosing the right moment to launch, and giving existing players a reason to return may matter just as much as a high-profile release.”
