Magic: The Gathering is about to head back to Strixhaven, marking the second trip to a familiar plane this year after Lorwyn Eclipsed.

While we’re very excited about our return to the magic college’s hallowed halls, Amazon has cut the price of one of the Lorwyn Commander precons to a new low. Better yet, it’s possibly the most interesting deck of 2026 so far, and it can be yours for under $40.

This Lorwyn Eclipsed Deck Is An Easy Recommendation

Blight Curse is a fun deck because while many Magic precons are all about powering up your creatures with +1/+1 counters, this deck wants you to debuff your foes and, in some instances, your own cards with -1/-1 counters.

It occupies a really interesting playspace that we don’t see all that often in precons, and I’ve had a ton of fun playing it without any upgrades. My caveat here would be that it’s not the simplest deck to play because you’ll need to keep on top of a bunch of triggers and ensure you’re counting your tokens at regular intervals.

The two Commanders on offer are Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, and The Reaper, King No More. The former requires players to dish out -1/-1 counters to be able to target it, and turns counters into card draw and life loss depending on who the creature belongs to.

It’s fun, but I prefer The Reaper. This big ol’ pumpkin-headed beast turns creatures that die from -1/-1 counters into your creatures. Both Commanders are viable, and there are some decent reprints here, too, including Necroskitter, Chimil, the Inner Sun, and the always dangerous Tree of Perdition.

Wondering about the other Lorwyn Eclipsed deck? Dance of the Elements is just $35.10 at Amazon, and is all about summoning big elemental creatures of all five colors. It’s another deck that’s great fun to play with.
