I am delighted to announce the return of the GamesIndustry.biz podcast, in response to popular demand. The previous incarnation of the show, anchored by James Batchelor and Chris Dring, became an industry staple, and we’ve had many, many requests for its return.
Our goal is to publish weekly and summarise the main stories of the week, with guests joining us to give additional context and insight. We’re calling this an alpha release, as it’ll take us a while to find our feet, and I hope you’ll bear with us.
Our debut was recorded as London Games Week draws to a close, and discusses the highlights of what we saw at the event. We also cover the announcement of new UK government funding for the games industry, the revenue figures allegedly revealed by a hack of Rockstar Games, and Roblox’s new parental controls being swiftly followed by the settlement of one of its many court cases over child safety.

We’ll also be publishing longer-form interviews with key industry figures, which you’ll also be able to read on the site. The first of those is a conversation with Peter Molyneux about his career and the lessons he’s applied to Masters of Albion, which he promises will be his final game. That’ll arrive next week, with more interviews to follow.
You can find the episode on Spotify, Youtube and wherever you get your podcasts. Feedback is welcomed; you can reach me at [email protected].
