Alan Wake 2 was released almost exactly three years ago, on October 27, 2023. In addition to Tristan Ogilvie’s glowing Alan Wake 2 IGN review, the game also ranked as our best horror game of 2023. Alan Wake 2 mixes survival horror 3rd-person action gameplay with immersive live action cutscenes with really high production values. There are very few games quite like it. The horror is mostly psychological, but there are plenty of visceral jump scares along the way. I generally don’t have the stomach for horror games and, sadly, this game was too scary for me to completely finish.
The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, the Night Springs and Lake House story expansions, both of which have already been released, and a remastered digital edition of the original Alan Wake game.
