French publisher Focus Entertainment has partnered with Maverick Games to launch its debut racing title, Clutch.
Maverick initially partnered with Amazon Game Studios for the then-unannounced game in 2024. Amazon ended the agreement earlier this year to “focus on projects that leverage Amazon’s unique strengths and scale.”
Maverick co-founder and COO Harinder Sangha told GamesIndustry.biz that the studio was in “active dialogue with partners who share our long-term ambition for the IP and look forward to sharing more later this year.”
Focus Entertainment stated that publishing Clutch will “strengthen [its] portfolio with its first entry into the open-world racing space, driven by a shared ambition to deliver a standout experience and establish Clutch as a major new racing IP.”
Clutch is set to launch in Spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Focus Entertainment is a French publisher and a subsidiary of Pullup Entertainment. Pullup operates three core divisions: Focus Entertainment Publishing, the Arcade Crew, and developer studios including Deck13, Streumon, Twelve Tenths, Leikir Studio, Blackmill, Dovetail, and Carpool Studio.
Former Playground Games developers founded Maverick Games in 2023. Brown previously served as creative director on the Forza Horizon series.
