PS5 consoles are still a pretty hefty investment, so it’s always worth keeping an eye out for ways to make the jump to current-gen gaming a little cheaper. Especially in 2026, and with GTA 6 just around the corner.
PlayStation has a brand new offer that does just that in the run-up to Black Friday, knocking $40 off when you buy a Certified Refurbished PS5 console and a Recertified DualSense wireless controller together. The bundle starts at $518 for the Digital Edition, while the disc-drive model comes to $568.

Save $155 on a PS5 and Two DualSense Controllers
Let’s break this down a little further, as there are more savings here than it initially seems. With the additional $40 applied at checkout, you’re essentially getting $723 worth of hardware for just $568, at least on the refurb PS5 disc edition.
For the digital edition, it’s $673 total, down to $518. How does this work exactly – I hear you ask? So, you’re already getting a $100 discount on a refurbished PS5 console compared to buying new ($599 / $649 MSRP).
Let’s be clear, though: you’re getting an additional controller with this offer, not just a discount on the console. You can choose from a range of DualSense controller colorways, too, so there’s a chance to pick up a second pad that suits your setup.
A standard DualSense wireless controller usually costs $74 via PS Direct, but the recertified controller in this bundle costs $59, and effectively drops to just $19 after all is said and done. You can also opt for a couple of different colorways such as Sterling Silver or Volcanic Red that are slightly more expensive, costing $64 instead of $59.

That makes this less of a straightforward PS5 discount and more of a great deal on an extra controller.
If you’re planning to play couch co-op games with friends or family, having a second pad ready to go is a big plus. It also means you won’t need to buy another controller separately later on.
The discount applies automatically at checkout when you purchase both eligible products in a single transaction, so there’s no coupon code to worry about either.
And with Grand Theft Auto 6 scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, it’s a good opportunity to get your console sorted ahead of this year’s biggest release.
The PS5 is still a very expensive purchase, but if you’re planning to pick one up anyway, this offer makes the refurbished route a much easier to consider. And, with the PS5 Pro basically unavailable in the run up to GTA 6, this is the best you’re going to get!
Plus, I should mention, that this deal is only live until November 5, 2026, so you’ve got a limited window in order to take advantage.

Should You Wait for Black Friday?
Honestly, no. I don’t foresee there being any significant console deals in and around Black Friday this year, they are simply too expensive to produce. That’s why refurbished is the way to go, especially with excellent deals like this.
Plus, GTA 6 is out November 19, so unless PlayStation drops an surprise discount on the PS5 at the start of November, you’re better off just getting your console ASAP to avoid disappointment.
