GDC Festival of Gaming has appointed four new members to its advisory board.

The appointees are:

  • Amir Satvat, general partner at 1Up Ventures and former business development director at Tencent Games)
  • Alexa Ray Corriea, narrative writer at Gearbox Software and former journalist
  • Lucien Parsons, fractional COO at Dragon Snacks Games and GDCA Jury member for Debut Games
  • Perrin Kaplan, marketing and PR leader and former vice president of marketing and corporate affairs at Nintendo of America

“We’re thrilled with the wealth of experience and knowledge all our new members bring to share with GDC,” the organisation said.

The advisory board consists of over 50 members, all game industry professionals who “help shape the GDC Festival of Gaming program.”

Last month, GDC VP of content strategy Mark DeLoura revealed changes to the 2027 conference, including a new Business Hall at Moscone West.

Additional changes include three new passes, dedicated options for indies and start-ups, and an updated event schedule.

DeLoura told GamesIndustry.biz that next year’s event aims to offer greater flexibility, which “came directly from industry feedback.”

“We’re always looking at how GDC can better serve the game industry, and listening to our community is a crucial part of that,” said DeLoura.

“After introducing the Festival of Gaming and making significant changes to the GDC experience in 2026, it was especially important that we listen closely to what worked, what could work better, and how people want to participate in GDC going forward.”

He concluded: “GDC 2027 is about giving people more choices in how they participate at the show, making the week work better for the way the industry uses GDC today. The changes are about making the event more accessible, making it easier to make meaningful connections and accomplish what you came to GDC to do.”
